Janice is a retired teacher who draws inspiration from the beautiful nature throughout Michigan. She came up with the idea for this piece during her daily walk through a field with her pup, Ado. Janice noticed that some of the extremely small flowers in the grass—the ones right under our toes that almost always go unnoticed—had some of the most stunning colors and patterns. She then asked Aubrey to capture close-up, detailed shots of these tiny flowers so she could paint them and showcase their beauty to those who have never noticed the small beauty all around them.

Aubrey, Janice's daughter, is a full-time portrait and wedding photographer with a keen eye for capturing life's intimate moments. Using a macro-photography lens, Aubrey delved into the world magnificent, under appreciated flowers that hide in plain sight. As she focused on these delicate blossoms, she was astounded by the rich, vibrant colors she had never noticed in the grass throughout her life. Photography has always provided her with a fresh perspective on the world, revealing that, like a camera, life is shaped by what we choose to focus on. In the rush of daily life, we often overlook the beauty that lies right beneath our feet.
